Co-production week 2026 is a great chance to think about what really matters in social care. It reminds us to listen to people, value their experiences, and work together to shape better support.
At Delta Wellbeing, co-production is not just something we talk about. It is part of how we work every day.
What is co-production?
Co-production is about working with people, not doing things for them. It means people and their families have a real say in the support they receive, helping to shape services that reflect their needs, preferences, and goals.
By embracing co-production, we create more inclusive, responsive, and effective care, where people feel heard, respected and in control.
Working together to shape care that reflects what matters most
We see these principles at work every day through our close partnership with social care in Carmarthenshire. Our Information, Advice and Assistance (IAA) service acts as the single point of access for adult social care and health enquiries, working alongside multi-disciplinary teams to ensure people receive the right support at the right time.
Our Response service, registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), provides vital, short-term emergency bridging support for individuals in crisis; whether that’s following a hospital discharge, a sudden change in circumstances, or while waiting for a longer-term care package. Crucially, this support is shaped with the person and their family to reflect what matters most to them, giving people real choice, control and a strong voice in how their support is delivered.
Putting people first with Delta Direct
Our Delta Direct service shows this in action, built around a simple but powerful idea: the person is in control.
We understand that everyone is different, and that’s why our approach focuses on tailoring support packages around each person. We don’t use a “one size fits all” approach.
Through Delta Direct, we:
- Empower people to make decisions about their care
- Listen carefully to what matters most to them
- Design flexible, personalised packages of support
- Adapt services as needs and circumstances change
This means that people get support that works for them, enabling them to live as independently and confidently as possible.
Why co-production matters
When people are involved in shaping their own care:
- They feel more confident
- Their wellbeing improves
- Services become more effective and sustainable
Co-production also builds trust. It creates a better relationship between people and the services that support them.
Our approach at Delta Wellbeing
We believe that people should always be at the heart of decision-making about their quality of care. Delta Direct is just one example of how we are putting this into everything we do.
We will keep listening, learning, and improving so we can offer support that is flexible, personal and empowering.
Looking ahead
During Co-production Week 2026, we celebrate working together and putting people first.
Together, we can continue to shape services that:
- Reflect real needs
- Promote independence
- Deliver dignity and choice
Because the best outcomes are achieved not for people, but with them.
