Delta Wellbeing has achieved the Bronze level Investors in Carers (IiC) award, recognising its commitment to supporting unpaid carers.
The Investors in Carers scheme celebrates organisations that demonstrate an awareness of carers’ needs and ensure carers can access appropriate information and support.
Bronze accreditation recognises organisations that can identify unpaid carers of all ages and help signpost them to the relevant services and guidance.
With thousands of people across Wales providing unpaid care for family members, friends and neighbours, carers play a vital role in helping loved ones remain safe, independent and well.
Achieving the accreditation reflects Delta Wellbeing’s commitment to recognising this contribution and ensuring carers are aware of the support available to them.
The scheme is delivered by Hywel Dda University Health Board, with support from Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire County Councils, and provides a framework for organisations to continually develop their understanding of carers’ needs.
Delta Wellbeing’s Head of Operations Rebecca Davies said: “Unpaid carers make an enormous contribution to the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities every day. Achieving the Bronze Investors in Carers award shows the work being undertaken across Delta Wellbeing to help identify carers and connect them with the right information and support. We are proud to receive this recognition and look forward to further strengthening our support in the years ahead.”
This achievement marks an important milestone for Delta Wellbeing and builds on its wider work to support people to live independently and improve wellbeing across local communities. A Local Authority Trading Company, wholly owned by Carmarthenshire County Council, Delta Wellbeing provides assistive technology, 24/7 proactive monitoring and in-person response services to help older and vulnerable people live safely at home.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Social Services & Children and Families Cllr Jane Tremlett, and Chair of Delta Wellbeing’s Governance Group, said: “I congratulate everyone at Delta Wellbeing on achieving this important accreditation. This award recognises Delta’s commitment to supporting unpaid carers and highlights the important role carers play in our communities.”
