Dementia-friendly technology for peace of mind
This Dementia Action Week, we're raising awareness about assistive technology, which can help provide independence and security for those living with dementia and their loved ones.
Delta Wellbeing's CONNECT package offers a range of flexible Technology Enabled Care (TEC) that can be designed specifically for dementia.
Understanding Dementia Action Week:
Dementia Action Week, led by the Alzheimer's Society, raises awareness and advocacy across the UK. Together, we can support and act towards creating dementia-friendly communities. The goal is to ensure that dementia patients receive the understanding, care, and resources they deserve.
The role of the CONNECT package:
Technology has changed how we see care, and our CONNECT package demonstrates how flexible and innovative TEC solutions tailored to individual needs can make a difference.
We offer a range of devices, such as red button lifelines, fall detectors, GPS tracking devices, door sensors, and medication dispensers, each designed to provide round-the-clock peace of mind.
24/7 monitoring
For individuals living with dementia, emergencies can arise unexpectedly. Our friendly team of staff is available 24/7, 365 days a year. When you press your lifeline button, you’ll come through to our monitoring centre and the team will be able to assist by contacting family members, emergency service or dispatching our response team. Whether it's a medical emergency or a simple reassurance call, we can offer a sense of security for the individual and loved ones.
GPS tracking devices:
If you or your loved one becomes disoriented and strays from familiar surroundings, we offer GPS tracking devices that check location. This technology allows family and loved ones to know their whereabouts and intervene if necessary. It offers invaluable peace of mind, particularly when concerned about a loved one’s safety.
Door sensors:
Simple yet effective, door sensors play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of individuals with dementia. By alerting family or loved ones to door movements, these sensors can help prevent wandering episodes. This proactive measure enhances security while preserving the individual's independence within their living environment.
Medication dispensers:
Managing medication can be daunting for individuals with dementia and their families. Medication dispensers offer automated reminders and precise dosing, reducing the likelihood of missed doses or medication errors. This promotes medication independence and supports overall health management.
Wellbeing assessment:
The progression of dementia is unique to everyone. When signing up for CONNECT, we offer a wellbeing assessment to find the support you require to live independently and safely. We'll work with you and your family to understand your circumstances and recommend the right equipment because we promote a personal approach.
This Dementia Action Week, let's act for the wellbeing of our loved ones. By embracing innovative solutions and encouraging dementia-friendly communities, we can collectively make a profound difference in the lives of those affected by this condition. Let's empower lives and build a future of compassion and inclusion for all.
