Helping to put carers on the map

Carers Week is an annual campaign to recognise and celebrate unpaid carers' hard work and dedication across the UK. This year’s theme, ' Putting Carers on the Map’, focuses on ensuring that carers receive the recognition, support, and resources they need to continue their vital work.

At Delta Wellbeing, we are not just dedicated to helping carers, we are committed to it. We provide a wide range of services and technologies to make their lives, and the lives of those they care for, easier and better, giving them the reassurance and confidence they need.

The important role of carers

Carers look after family members or friends who can’t manage on their own because of illness, disability or old age. They often do this out of love and dedication. However, caring for someone can be tiring, frustrating, lonely and isolating. Identifying as a carer and getting help early can benefit the carer’s health and wellbeing.

Delta Wellbeing Team Leader Franki Evans said:

“Caring for someone else can feel rewarding, but it also can be at times quite difficult. Without people identifying as a carer and receiving information and help at an early stage, it can lead to carers’ health and wellbeing being affected.

How Delta Wellbeing supports carers

At Delta Wellbeing, we aim to help people live as independently as possible for as long as possible. We know that every caregiving situation is different, so we offer services tailored to the needs of carers and those they support.

Personalised advice and assistance

When you contact Delta Wellbeing, you will talk to a professionally qualified adviser. They will provide information, advice, and assistance on health, social care, and wellbeing. Our advisers will ask what’s important to you and the person you care for. This helps us understand your situation and create a customised practical advice and technology package that best meets your needs.

Innovative technology for better care

We offer many products that can be linked to a person rather than a monitoring centre. This means an alert can be raised to someone nearby. This flexibility lets you choose what works best for you, giving you peace of mind and immediate support in emergencies. Our technology solutions fit seamlessly into daily life, helping carers and those they care for become more independent and secure.

Carers Emergency Card: A lifeline for carers in Carmarthenshire

One of our key services is the Carers Emergency Card. This is a free service for carers of people living in Carmarthenshire. The card is the size of a purse or wallet and has a unique ID and emergency response number. It tells others that the holder cares for someone at home who cannot manage without help. If the carer has an accident or emergency or is seriously ill, the card lets others and emergency services know that the person they care for needs help. If you are a carer looking for help or know someone who could benefit from our services, please get in touch with us. Together, we can make sure carers get the recognition and support they deserve, enabling them to continue their important work with confidence and security.
