Celebrating #NAW2025: My journey with Delta Wellbeing
This week marks National Apprenticeship Week 2025 (#NAW2025), a time to celebrate the power of apprenticeships and their impact on employers, training providers and learners. My name is Bethan, and I am the marketing and media officer at Delta Wellbeing. I want to share my journey and how an apprenticeship has helped me grow personally and professionally.
I joined Delta Wellbeing in 2021 as a wellbeing adviser after working as a support worker during the COVID-19 pandemic. While I loved helping people, I was looking for a career change that still allowed me to make a difference. My background in Tourism and Event Management, having graduated with a master’s degree from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in 2018, had already introduced me to the world of marketing, which I had developed a passion for.
After working as a Delta Wellbeing adviser for two years, an exciting opportunity arose to join the marketing team. Despite not having worked in the marketing industry for several years, I took a leap of faith — and Delta Wellbeing took a chance on me. In 2023, I officially became part of the marketing team as a marketing and media officer.
Recognising that I needed to refresh my knowledge and gain new skills, my manager encouraged me to enrol in a Level 4 Diploma in Digital Marketing with NTG Training as part of an apprenticeship. This has allowed me to continue working full-time while learning and applying my knowledge in real-time. It has been an invaluable experience, giving me deeper insights into the ever-evolving world of marketing and boosting my confidence in my role.
I am now halfway through my apprenticeship, with the goal of completing it in 2026. Delta Wellbeing has supported me every step of the way, helping me achieve new skills, learn from real-world experiences, and grow in my career.
My journey is proof that apprenticeships are not just for those starting their careers — they are also for professionals looking to upskill, expand into new industries, or refine their expertise.
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity, and I encourage anyone considering an apprenticeship to take that step — you never know where it might lead you!
