Time to Talk Day 2025: Let’s start the conversation

Time to Talk Day is all about starting conversations about mental health. It’s a day to remind us that talking can help us feel less alone, more supported, and better understood. Mental health affects us all, no matter what our age, and having someone to talk to can make a big difference.

Tea and talk

Sometimes, the best conversations happen over a cup of tea. If you attend a local community centre, a group, or even meet with friends, think about creating a relaxed setting where people feel comfortable opening up. A simple chat over a cuppa can help people feel safe sharing their thoughts and listening to others.

Think outside the box 📦

Time to Talk Day isn’t just about sitting down for a chat. It’s about finding creative ways to get people talking. You could write a poem or share your favourite song. Some people bake cakes for a neighbour or reach out to someone they haven’t spoken to in a long time. Whatever feels right for you, starting a conversation is important.

Walk and talk 🚶🏻

For some, it’s easier to talk while doing something active. Walking side by side can make conversations feel more natural. You could even use conversation cards to help break the ice and start discussions about mental health.
