World Parkinson’s Day – how we can help at Delta Wellbeing
World Parkinson’s Day takes place every year on 11th April. It is a day to raise awareness about Parkinson’s – a condition that affects the brain and makes everyday movements more difficult over time.
People with Parkinson’s might find it hard to walk, talk or do simple tasks. It can also affect their mood, sleep and memory. Parkinson’s is different for everyone – some people have mild symptoms and others may need more help.
At Delta Wellbeing, we understand that living with Parkinson’s can be challenging. That’s why we offer services that support people in living safely and independently at home for as long as possible.
How Delta Wellbeing can support you
We offer a service called CONNECT, which gives 24/7 support at the push of a button. It can be a big help for people with Parkinson’s who may worry about falling or needing help when they’re alone. With CONNECT, help is always just one call away.
We also have a friendly team that checks in regularly with our clients. These wellbeing calls can make a big difference, especially for people who may feel lonely or need someone to talk to.
Supporting carers too
Parkinson’s doesn’t just affect the person with the condition – it can also be hard for family and carers. Our services help take some of the pressure off, giving carers peace of mind that their loved ones are safe.
If you are a carer, we provide a free carers emergency card service for carers living in Carmarthenshire.
On World Parkinson's Day
We want to remind everyone that no one has to face Parkinson’s alone. Whether through technology, regular calls or fast response in emergencies, Delta Wellbeing is here to help.
If you or someone you know is living with Parkinson’s and would like to know more about how we can support you, call us on 0300 333 2222.
Delta CONNECT is an enhanced lifeline and telecare service, funded by the Welsh Government’s Health and Social Care Regional Integration Fund (RIF) through the West Wales Regional Partnership Board.
